Located in the historic center, in the area of the ancient Paduan ghetto near Piazza delle Erbe, the Museum of Jewish Padua bears witness to the history of the Jewish Community that has been intertwined with that of the city for centuries.
It is housed in a restored 16th-century Ashkenazi synagogue, rebuilt in the late 1990s after being destroyed by a fire set by a group of fascists in the spring of 1943. The restoration, as conservative as possible, has kept the ancient matroneum arches and the monumental nineteenth-century entrance staircase clearly recognizable.
Since 2015, it has welcomed visitors of all ages to make them partake in Jewish culture and traditions, giving them a new perspective on the history of Padua.

– FRIDAY private visits by appointment only
– SUNDAY (10 a – 6 pm)
