THE STORY OF STORIES: THE PASSOVER HAGGADAH

A fascinating journey through history, culture and cuisine, as we discover together the deeper meaning of Passover (Pesach).

A GUIDED TOUR THROUGH THE MEANINGS, SYMBOLS AND FLAVOURS OF THE JEWISH EASTER!

On Monday 6 April, at 11.00 am and 4.00 pm, we look forward to seeing you at the Museum for a special tour dedicated to Pesach, the Jewish Passover.

Through reading the Haggadah, the text that symbolises this festival, we will discover together the stories, rituals and meanings that have been passed down around the world for centuries.

Passover, which in Hebrew means ‘passage’, celebrates the Jewish people’s liberation from slavery in Egypt: a powerful story that remains alive and relevant to this day.

🍷 Final sensory experience
At the end of the tour, you will have the chance to taste matzah and charoset, two traditional foods served during the reading of the Haggadah.

MATZAH, the unleavened bread, which commemorates the Jews’ hasty flight from Egypt, when they had no time to let the bread rise.

CHAROSETH, a sweet mixture made with dried fruit, dates, apples, red wine or orange juice. Its texture and colour are reminiscent of the mortar used by the Jews during their time of slavery in Egypt. The recipe varies from family to family, depending on local traditions.

Afterwards, you can round off the tour with a guided tour of the SYNAGOGUE.
