11 September 1945: Piera Almansi regains her identity and takes on the surname Ortis
Once WW2 was over and after escaping persecutions thanks to her falsified IC, Piera Rachel Almansi regained her true identity. Her surname became Ortis: in fact, after the end of the war Piera married Luigi Ortis, the Captain of Carabinieri who had helped her and her mother Carmen Sinigaglia to have a forged ID
