Piera Rachel Almansi was born on August 3rd, 1920 in Reggio Emilia. She was the daughter of Adolfo Almansi and Carmen Simchà Sinigaglia. She soon lost her dad and grew up with her mother and brother Cesare, in Cremona. It is in this town that her Postal IC was issued in 1941
